My name is Kevin Michael Gallagher.

I’m a professional Linux Systems Administrator slash DevOps + Full-Stack + Site Reliability + Security Engineer, plus an activist committed to privacy, security and freedom of information. I enjoy literature, music, and film in my free time.

Cloudflare, a free global CDN, DNS, DDoS protection & web security provider that can speed up and protect any site online. (August 2016—September 2017)

Zcash, a decentralized and open source cryptocurrency that aims to set a new standard for privacy. (August 2016—June 2017)

Freedom of the Press Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports and defends transparency journalism and maintains the SecureDrop open source whistleblower submission system. (March 2014—July 2016)

Transparency Toolkit, a group that gathers open data on surveillance and human rights abuses and makes free software to examine it.

Library Freedom Project, a partnership which aims to make real the promise of intellectual freedom in libraries by teaching librarians about privacy rights and responsibilities, surveillance threats, and tools to counter them.

Free Barrett Brown, a support network, advocacy organization and legal defense fund formed to help a jailed journalist.
